Sound Barrier Installation

  • Grant status - awarded
  • Grant amount & source - $1,000,000; Commonwealth Financing Authority
  • Project summary - install an approximate 500 linear feet sound barrier along a portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Schultz Road and Weber Road
  • Project status - bid awarded; construction to start August 2022

Valley Forge Corridor Improvement Project

  • Grant status - awarded
  • Grant amount & source - $700,000; Multimodal Transportation Fund
  • Project summary - seeks funds for preliminary engineering for improvements to Valley Forge Road between Township Line Road / Stump Hall Road and Woodlyn Avenue, which includes the installation of (1) a center turn lane, (2) left-turn lanes at the Township Line Road / Stump Hall Road, Water Street Road and Woodlyn Avenue, and (3) a traffic signal at Woodlyn Avenue
  • Project status - design work underway; design to be completed by late 2022; construction to be funded in future years

Zacharias Trail Extension Project

  • Grant status - awarded
  • Grant amount & source - $326,280; Department of Conservation and Natural Resources C2P2 Program
  • Project summary - seeks funds to construct a 1.2 mile trail extension that connects to Evansburg State Park
  • Project status - design work has started; construction is slated for 2023.  

Defford Park Improvements

  • Grant status - awarded
  • Grant amount & source - $6,700; PECO Green Region Open Space Grant Program
  • Project summary - seeks funds to add buffering to trail, as well as a picnic area and add to the riparian buffer.  
  • Project status - improvements underway; project to be completed by Fall 2022.  

Mt. Kirk Park Improvements

  • Grant status - awarded
  • Grant amount & source - $150,000; Montgomery County 2040 Grant Program
  • Project summary - seeks funds to add park amenities to Mt. Kirk Park.  
  • Project status - improvements underway; to be completed by Fall 2022.    

Community Classroom (in Heebner Park)

  • Grant status - awarded - $125,000
  • Grant amount & source - $125,000; PA Department of Community and Economic Development- Greenways Trails Recreation Program
  • Project summary - seeks funds to add an 2,000sf modular building to host indoor recreation programs near the Tennis and Basketball Courts (where there is currently a sand mount).  
  • Project status - on hold as of August 2022.  

Truck & Stake-Body Trailer for Compost Site

  • Grant status - grant submitted  - $125,000
  • Grant amount & source - $125,000; Commonwealth Financing Authority- Statewide Local Share Assessment
  • Project summary - seeks funds to purchase a Truck and Stake-Body Trailer for the Compost Site located at Nike Park.  
  • Project status - application submitted, pending grant award determination.
