PennDOT to make intersection of Bustard Road and Morris Road in Towamencin Township an “all-way Stop.” – Signs to be installed Monday January 10, 2011
As a result of a traffic study conducted by safety specialists, traffic engineers, and Towamencin Police, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will be making traffic control changes to the intersection of Bustard Road and Morris Road in Towamencin Township. Stop signs will be placed on all three road approaches to the intersection on Monday morning January 10th after the morning rush hour according to PennDOT. Currently, only Morris Road has a fully controlled stop, while southbound Bustard Road has a stop for left hand turns, but allows for continuous flow for vehicles continuing on Bustard in to Worcester Township.
Bustard Road is a state-owned roadway whereby the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is responsible for its maintenance and operability. Township officials contacted PennDOT for assistance as a result of numerous incidents of northbound vehicles running off the road while negotiating the curve on Bustard Road at the intersection.
