2011 Road Improvement Program

At a special meeting on September 14, 2011, the Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Reid Paving of Gilbertsville, PA in the amount of $319,990 for the 2011 Road Improvement Program. In accordance with this contract, the following work will be performed:

Kriebel Mill (Fawn to Heebner) Milling & Repaving
Kriebel Mill (Heebner to Stump) Milling & Repaving
Potshop (Intersection Valley Forge) Storm Sewer Replacement & Repaving
Hollow (Intersection Route 73) Repaving
Heebner (Valley Forge to Kriebel Mill) Repaving
Dell (Woodlyn to Quarry Hall) Paving & Repairs
Trooper (TechniTool Entrance) Pavement Repairs & Stabilization of Swale
Windy Hill Pavement Repairs
East Adair Drive Storm Sewer Replacement

Construction is slated to begin the week of October 10 and completed within the following weeks. The work is being done through Worcester Township utilizing Liquid Fuels and General Funds. The Board of Supervisors would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during the construction.

Road Notices

w November 11, 2011 ~ Potshop Road (between Valley Forge and Landis Road) will be closed for approximately 7 days, beginning Wednesday, November 16, as part of the 2011 Road Improvement Program.  Weather could impact the work schedule.

 

w October, 20, 2011 ~ UPDATE - Kriebel Mill Road Bridge project: The first half of the project is complete and it is estimated that the entire project will be complete within 3 weeks.

 

w August 8, 2011 ~ On Monday, August 8, 2011, the Township will begin construction on the Kriebel Mill Road Bridge project.  The work will be done by Ply-Mar Construction Inc.  During the construction period traffic might be reduced to one lane at times. The Township has coordinated the project with the Township Fire Department and emergency vehicles will have access across the bridge during all phases of construction.  Weather permitting the project should be completed by the end of August.  Please contact the Township Manager should you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during construction.

 

w July 19, 2011 ~ Penn DOT announces closure of North North Wales Road beginning July 29th | PennDOT news release

 

The following information is from the PA Turnpike’s Website:

Southern Section Mainline Reconstruction and Widening – Walsh Construction was awarded the construction contract for the six-mile southern section of the Northeastern Extension from the Mid-County Interchange (Milepost A20) to Berks Road (Milepost A26). Construction on this section of the mainline Turnpike roadway and its seven mainline bridges is slated to begin in spring 2011 and continue through 2013. Additional information pertaining to scheduled construction activities, traffic control and the project schedule will be shared with the public as it becomes available. These updates will be posted at http://www.paturnpike.com/ConstructionProjects/mpA20toA30/construction/schedule.aspx, publicized by way of press releases, and shared via E-Bulletins. Questions pertaining to construction activities on the mainline can also be directed to the project hotline at 1-877-855-2545. This number is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
