The North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) will flush fire hydrants in Worcester Township between April 24 and May 20. NPWA flushes the hydrants each year to ensure they function properly when called upon to battle a fire. This work also improves water quality by removing the build-up of any materials in the water lines.
NPWA owns and maintains 215 fire hydrants in the Township, with most of these located to the north of Township Line Road and Stump Hall Road.
If water discoloration occurs during this time, the NPWA recommends folks run the cold water for a few minutes. If the discoloration continues residents should turn the water off for 20 minutes, then turn the cold water on for a few minutes. If the discoloration remains contact the NPWA at (215) 885-3617.
